Word family:  prefer

First can you think of a noun and three adjectives, and make sentences?
Comment

Whenever you learn a word you should learn other members of the word family.  That way you get two or more words for the price of one [idiomatic language]

Make a note of good sentences that show you the patterns.  For example  I prefer dogs to cats.

Put your new sentences in Anki to ensure that you remember them forever.

Hi Nguyen

Preferred and preferable are similar but used in different ways. Note the patterns eg preferred option / preferable to

Preferential is different – it’s a bit like privileged.

I suggest you just learn good sentences and patterns

Hi teacher,
Thanks for your post.
Would you mind to explain me what are differences between 3 adj words: preferable, preferential, preferred? I am a little bit confused. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Tony,
I guess this sentence below is not correct
“Maybe because they can watch what they like instead of what the broadcasters what them to watch.”
I think “Maybe because they can watch what they like instead of what the broadcasters want them to watch”
